A few months of rumour and speculation has come to an end. We have amassed what is arguably the best squad of players that I have seen at Spurs, at least if they all live up to their potential that armchair Football Managers believe they have.
Chadli is a raw talent, but looks like he will need some time to settle. Paulinho and Capoue also will need time, but we have already seen glimpses of what they will be able to offer in midfield. Eriksen could be the player that unlocks the puzzle that has been supplying our strikers - a problem which we didn't address in the last two windows since VdV and Modric. And Lamela - looking like the Latino love child of Fabregas and and RVP his brief cameo in the North London Derby hinted that he will be a force, though again, he is going to need time to get used to the players. And then we have Michael Dawson Mk II, or Chirches as we will now know him.
The fact is that we do need time to allow the team to gel in to a big ball of football goodness, especially as I haven't even mentioned Willian, Coentrao, Benteke, Hulk and the Spanish god that is David Villa. All of these players mean that we have possibility the most competitive squad in the Premier League.
With the new FIFA ruling that football will now consist of two teams of 16 players we will be able to dominate in midfield. Hulk and Willian will fit perfectly behind a strike force of Defoe, Soladado, Villa, Benteke, it is just a shame that Adebayor decided to retire from football to pursue is dream to play bass in a Bob Marley tribute act.
Coentrao is a splendid left back who will fill the gap left by BAE, who left Spurs to buy Nike Air Jordans as a full time career. Meanwhile there are two Croatian kids that will hover around midfield claiming to be the next Luka Modric. Juan Mata is going to struggle, but may make our Carling Cup squad with Tom Carroll out on loan at Ajax, and Torres still wont be able to hit a barn door from 5 yards away, so he'll probably just go straight out on loan to Palace in January.
AND WE FINALLY SIGNED DAMIAO! You see! He does really, really exist!
Anyway, it is difficult to know exactly the team that will face Norwich. We have made a number of new signings. I'm pretty sure that AVB and Freund will blindfold each other and simply put pins in the list of names.
